Why ethical printing

Our story

Ethical Print Co. was founded by the team behind Ethical Design Co., an award-winning Australian design agency specialising in sustainability, social impact, and purpose-driven communications.

Our story began in printing. Founder Sonja Meyer started her career in a small print shop in 2005, learning every aspect of the industry from production and paper stocks through to finishing and delivery. Over the following two decades, she combined that print expertise with a passion for sustainable design and responsible business.

As Ethical Design Co. EDCo. grew, one thing became clear: great design deserves great print outcomes. Clients were increasingly looking for print solutions that balanced quality, cost, and environmental responsibility. Ethical Print Co. was created to make those solutions accessible to everyone—not just our design clients.

Today, we help organisations across Australia produce high-quality printed materials with a focus on sustainability, transparency, and thoughtful production practices. From annual reports and booklets to brochures, posters, and stationery, we work with trusted Australian suppliers to deliver print that looks exceptional while reducing unnecessary environmental impact.

Why the focus on ethical printing?

4bn kg

Approximately 4 billion kilograms of ink is used for printing around the world every year. Source.

5% CO2

The pulp and paper industry accounts for about 5% of the worlds emissions and uses about 4% of the world’s energy. Source.

28m ha

Since 2016, an average of 28 million hectares have been cut down every year. That’s one football field of forest lost every single second around the clock. Source.

We’re committed to sustainable printing solutions

We believe print still has an important place in communication when it is produced responsibly.

That’s why we prioritise recycled and certified paper stocks, environmentally conscious production methods, and practical advice that helps clients make informed decisions about their print projects.

Whether you’re a non-profit, university, government agency, business, or community organisation, we’re here to help you create print that makes an impact—for the right reasons.
